At 8 months....Emily.....
...is SO close to crawling, but can't quite figure it out....which results in faces, yelling and kicking feet!
...weighs 20+lbs and is starting to grow out of 6-12 tops (onesies anyway) but still has some room in the pants.....
...has 3 teeth....two on top and one lonely tooth on the bottom!
...is a CRAZY BABY! Spends time each day destroying the rooms she can get to via the walker....any table will be cleared off as well as the fridge....makes for an unhappy brother when train setups and artwork end up grabbed or on the floor!
...loves taking a bath...in the baby tub or in the big tub with her brother. She sits up well enough that she can go in there without a bathseat...which we never would have done with Ryan. She loves splashing and playing toys! Can't wait to see her this summer!
...says "dadda" and "mommom" and something that sounds like "HI!"
...has hair that seems to be getting curlier and filling in, but is starting already to pull out mommy's attempts at hair accessories!
...takes 4 6oz bottles a day....and eats three meals....she loves all of her fruits and any veggies (aside from peas and green beans). She also is recently into puffs, cheerios, and graham crackers. Today she has pureed melon and zucchini and seemed to like it. Toast was a hit the other day!
...goes to bed at 7PM each night....and is up between 5:30-6:30 each morning. She naps after we drop Ryan at school (for an hour) and then sometime after lunch....we sometimes sneak another one in late afternoon depending on how well the afternoon nap went....
...really into emptying her toy bins and playing with the bins themselves! A box is more fun than toys any day.
...LOVES LOVES LOVES any attention from her brother. Their new game involves Emily in the walker, chasing Ryan around our bedroom!
...is happy to be out and about and seems to sleep better after a busy day. Smiles at everyone at the store and gets lots of attention (which she loves).
...is called "Emmy Ems" by Ryan and Mommy.
...is the opposite of her brother as far as "getting into things!" She is far less timid and far more interested already in making sure she has everything figured out and that she gets her way. In fairness to her, there's a lot more trouble to get into than there was with her brother (many more FUN toys to play with).

Then we found some books....about "sharp tooths," "t-rex" and "long neck" and went to play in the kids area for a bit where he said hello to another little boy and played with him for a bit.....
We also ran to the store and he stayed dry the whole time! YEAH! And.....we then went to play at Avery's.....lots of running, chasing and hugging....they're funny!
Today we're trying out our first cooking class....and later we're having a playdate at Katie's! He's a busy man!
Trying to update as much as possible, because I realize I won't remember these things....bought a journal and only wrote in it once......so this is my best bet!
Last Saturday was Ryan's first day of "soccer." It was cute, and he did well, but did better with Rob before I got there....so mommy will have to stay home so that Ryan stays focused on playing.....
I'll try and throw in a few Christmas pictures tonight and hopefully Ryan will nap tomorrow and I can upload a few photos from my birthday this past weekend!
We had a great holiday....Ryan enjoyed it all....but then we got sick and it seems like I didn't get to enjoy the days afterwards as much as I would have liked. We didn't even get to take a family photo until the 3rd or 4th.....right before we took down the tree.....
Anyway.....Ryan has been a crack up lately. He's starting to repeat so many things....When I tell him I love him at night....he says "te too ma". We're not positive but we think it's his way of saying "love you too!" Melts my heart every time. He's also been saying some things more clearly. He uses "thank you" appropriately all the time now and usually doesn't have to be reminded. Adorable. He's still really into his "boo boo" and his "gee gee" (monkey)....and of course his toy choo choos....this kid has trains on the brains 24/7.
Tomorrow we're finally going to get together with his little friends Bobby and Avery. With all the sickness, we haven't seen them all at once.....since Ryan's birthday.....so it'll be a fun little get together. And Wednesday, we're going to have a playdate with Miss Katie.....Busy week for this little boy!
Our new "fake" tree on Christmas morning (no one else was awake yet)
Ryan's tree full of his ornaments (he has so many some are on our tree too)
Some of the little decorations that I love
Ryan's letter from Santa
The table ready for guests.....
And of course, I have to leave you with one photo of the boy himself (who I am happy to say seems to have made a full recovery.....which I'm relieved about as I'll be leaving him with my inlaws while I head to MA and Rob is busy with work).
